We are currently looking for a Purchasing and Planning Specialist. The position is responsible for procuring required goods in the appropriate quality, quantity, and timing at the most favourable conditions, while monitoring and optimising the supply chain in coordination with HQ. The role also involves planning, scheduling, and production control within operations, taking into account capacities, material availability, and the overarching SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) from HQ to ensure production is on schedule and in the right quantities.

Your tasks:

1.       Purchasing

  • Purchasing goods etc. while continuously monitoring price, delivery date and quality
  • Supplier management: purchasing, supplier selection, evaluation, further development of a global supplier base, supplier visits
  • Conduct price negotiations using standard letters
  • Processing delivery schedules and forwarding them to suppliers, monitoring delivery dates
  • Maintaining a constant overview of the capacities of the approved supplier portfolio in order to be able to react quickly to constant fluctuations in quantities
  • General master data maintenance in ERP
  • Regular participation in shop floor and CIP workshops for continuous improvement of process flows

2.       Planning

  • Planning production in a timely manner, taking into account manufacturing capacities, order situation, stock levels, backlogs, and procurement situations based on existing deadlines, determining optimal delivery dates in cooperation with material procurement, and updating or postponing deadlines in the ERP system
  • Coordinating production planning, production, and purchasing activities in line with available personnel, technical capacity, and material availability
  • Ensuring trouble-free material supply in terms of quantity and timing by scheduling inventory-controlled, semi-finished, and finished materials, taking into account cost efficiency and supply security
  • Participating regularly in shop floor and CIP workshops for continuous improvement of process flows.

Your qualifications:

  • Completed business studies or commercial training with relevant further training in purchasing or planning.
  • Several years of experience in production planning and work preparation
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with a structured and independent working style
  • Knowledge of APAC markets, including supplier base, general industry information, purchasing practices, negotiation techniques, and contract knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, with influence and persuasiveness
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of other Asian languages is an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office and D365
  • High motivation and strong teamwork ability.
